As I mentioned, I watched Ghost World a few weeks ago which included a strange clip of a song called Jaan Pehechan Ho. It was originally shot for a movie called Gumnaam and performed by Shankar Jaikishan.
The main lyrics to the song are:
“Jaan Pehechan Ho, Jeena Aasaan Ho,
Dil Ko Churane Wale Aakh Na Churaavo, Naam Tho Bataavo
Which mean:
“Lets get to know each other, it will make life easier,
oh you heart stealer, don’t shy away, tell me your name!”1
This goes in the category with Tunak Tunak Tan of stuff Americans really aren’t supposed to see…
