A Week Later

The DigiDesign VENUE

Ok, it’s been a little more than a week but here’s what I’ve been up to.

Maximizing Media

Ok, I said I’d tell you how it went, well, not great. The facility is really nice and it was good to see some of their video work (other video work not so much). My problem with the whole thing is that it was all very very basic. The website advertised advanced and beginner tracks, but Bobby and I couldn’t find anything that was actually advanced the whole time.

Cedarmania

It went far better than a couple years ago, or even last year considering  I was up about 12 hours more than usual from the Granger trip. My mind was numb for most of it though as was my body which probably actually made it much more bearable even without a caffeine overload.

Mixing Gnarls Barkley

If you haven’t heard of Gnarls Barkley then you are truly missing out. I have been a fan for a little while now, but last week we had a demo DigiDesign VENUE mixer brought in. To show us how it worked they also had a tethered ProTools computer playing back a multi-track recording of a live Gnarls show. Epic.

Easter

Our easter service went well. It wasn’t anything remarkable or groundbreaking although I did make a little something in After Effects for the second time ever.

So that’s my week and with graduation coming in about a month I don’t anticipate any slow down.

One comment for “A Week Later”

  1. That sucks about Granger. You need to hookup with some dotcomrades, just ask them questions. Probably spend some money on some tutorial DVDs as well.
