Just walk really slow when they hold the door for you 25 yards out, I think they should be tested on how Christian they are.

Yeah, when a guy that is one step in front of me and my arms are full, lets the door smack me in the face…I sort of think, jerk…but then, when the ones that come along and just hold the door open, just because…well, that makes you feel good.

I too hate it when people stand there, and you’re like, 6 or 7 feet behind them, holding the door open for you…you feel like you have to hurry so they can move a long.

Politeness, if its not genuine…is dumb. Same as anything else that’s not genuine. If its merely you being a clone…because it was drilled into your head…what’s the point? Its like someone who HAS to love you…who wants that?

I know exactly what you mean–The problem with a Christian college is that everyone is a Christian (or at least pretends to be). I often compared it to a lighthouse shining next to 800 other lighthouses–what impact does it actually make? Now that I’m in a completely different setting, my lighthouse might actually be seen by someone.

Maybe you should be rude and then people will try to convert you. I had someone try to convert me recently, and it was rather amusing…R

It’s not that I don’t like holding doors for people it’s just that it has escalated to such a degree that you are also required to hold the door for the next hundred people behind her!

I agree. Hold the doors open. :-P You don’t have to be fake, just love doing… Trust me, whenever a guy holds a door open for me, I always think, “He’s such a quality guy…” Guys who don’t are given a less than enthusiastic title. BTW, my Xanga is http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=rachelgrl4 .
