Off the top of my head those include:

1. Running a half marathon. Amazing, intense, painful.
2. Completing five weeks of P90X (missing very few workouts).
3. Carrying 1000lbs of camera equipment (including a Cam-Mate) through the woods for two gorgeous shoots.
4. Helping make some amazing videos for NLC.
5. Learning new software, camera equipment, and a lot about video production in general.
6. My first MW2 prestige.

All of these (minus #6) are things I am incredibly proud of. The only problem is none of these were really my goals. They were driven or sparked by people around me. Of course I love where I am and everything I get to do. This is probably the best job in the world for me where I am right now.

Setting personal goals is just another thing I’ve let slide, not that I’ve ever really been good at it. So here we go. Along with starting to think again, I’m going to start setting some goals for myself for the rest of the year:

1. Learn Javascript. I’ve gone back and forth on a language to get into and I’ve just decided.
2. Get on a good Bible devotional scedule. Never been good at this either, but I really really need it!
3. Build some more relationships. I love my co-workers and my roomates but I really want to start branching out.
4. Start a serious dating relationship. Don’t laugh, it’s one of my goals!
5. Set some long term goals. I have some but too few and all too general.

Alright, so that is the end of my two part getting my life together series. Next post will be cool and technical in some way…and concise. Way more concise.

So I’ve been thinking again lately. Not to say that I’ve been completely braindead for the last year and a half but I’ve been stuck in doing mode for so long…there’s just been very little time spent on thinking, learning, and growing.

So you’re probably wondering right now why I have randomly posted on my all but abandoned blog this fine evening. First, I’m on vacation and that has traditionaly been a time that I’ve shared a lot (1 2 3). Second, something needs to get my brain going again!

So why must this brain jogging be in such a public fashion? Well, whether you like it or not, I’ve just signed you all up as accountabilibuddies. If I write here…and I mean really write here, hopefully there will be a desire to think of something interesting to say on a regular basis. What exactly it will be I have not yet decided, but I would like it to be fairly topical rather than randomness.

So thank you loyal RSS subscribers who I will pretend still exist. Thank you for my make believe obligation to you (both?). Together, I cannot fail.

What do you think I should write about?

And, since I am officially the employee of the month for August 2009, nobody is more qualified to do so (and yes, that is a real award).

The award was given to me this month mostly because I was an idiot and climbed in a tree covered in poison something during a video shoot to get a shot. It was bad…like wrist to elbow completely covered bad…so I guess they felt the need to make it up to me. That shoot was for a women’s event promo which Neil and I are working on now which I will show you all when we release them.

We have been incredibly busy this month so there are a lot of videos I could show you which is why I have created an awesome Videos page which I will keep updated with our latest endeavors. Of particular note are:

Etheopia Missions Video
Life Group Launch
Website Launch Teaser

And speaking of new website…we have also been building a new website with the help of the amazing Joe Hohman (and by that I mean he’s been building and we’re just sitting back and watching in amazement). So here’s to a full month of videos and another crazy month ahead.

It has now been twice in the last six month that we have lost power at our house for a significant amount of time. Before I go off on some rant about a new Enron type scandal I will just tell you that I decided to go out tonight to find internet and found solace at Burger King of all places! The map ablove gives my best estimate at the extent of the outage.

Fortunately when we had lost power I had just finished uploading the latest Beyond the Milk episode and was able to finish posting it here as well. So enjoy that.

So I know it’s been about six months since I’ve written here so I hope you haven’t forgotten about me…or at least your feed readers haven’t forgotten. It seems the desire for blogging across the internet has generally faded for twittering, but not for this guy. So let this now be your place for updates of 140 characters or more!

For my first post back in this crazy land of the internet I would like to update you on what has been my life for the last six months or so and what I’ve more or less settled on being up to. Aside from having an amazing girlfriend, losing an amazing girlfriend, deciding to stay in Springfield, and getting a new laptop and iPod Touch, some of my current projects include:

First and foremost, I am the co-founder of Spark Vision Media with Ty Fisher. If you know what Eyes Wide Open is, think of that with more focus on Christian mentorship.

Second, Beyond the Milk is back. The hit internet Bible podcast is back and better than ever now with special guests and occasional ridiculous topics such as Aliens in the Bible.

Third, I still work for Word of Faith part time and am involved in other ministries around Springfield through that. We also have a new website if you haven’t looked in a while.

Fourth, I am doing some freelancing on the side under the moniker Hear Me Out Design. So you will see the main page of this site change soon but this will always be here.

That’s all the main stuff. I’ll be updating this pretty regularly now though so expect some really exciting content!

So I’ve owned this precious little bundle of puppy for 5 days now and I love it…despite the obvious early challenges of puppy ownershiphood:

1. Loves to wake up at 8:00am with an incredible amount of energy. Since I am recently out of school I’m not really into the waking up early thing right now.

2. Eats everything and anything he finds on the ground…including network cables :(

3. Has huge bursts of energy and instant crashes always at the wrong times.

4. Pees whenever he feels like it…unfortunately not always outside.

5. Likes to hold sticks in his mouth like a cigar. I try to tell him it’s not very puppy like and a bad example to his peers.

Of course the good things make it soooo worth it for me such as how much the cat fears my ferocious little beast. Ahhh…I hate that cat…

Whhhhhow! Life is whhhhild! (If you ever want to add extra emphasis to something just add some "h’s") My adventures never seem to end, and with graduation quickly approaching it doesn’t look like it will be slowing down.

These last couple weeks I’ve been on quite a few projects. Taking up the largest percentages of my time have been another Eyes Wide Open Cambodia video, a backpacking trip, and building my portfolio. The last item on that list is probably the most exciting because I’m really happy with how it turned out. You can check it out at hearmeout.us/portfolio and for the few of you who have already seen it you can visit the all new photography section.

The video section is really light right now because it takes FOREVER for me to encode stuff into FLV files but more will be coming there very soon. Any tips, advice, critiques, criticisms, praises are welcome.
