Wow, seeing this project finally finished is kind of crazy. It has been months of planning, recruiting, shooting, editing, mixing, and compositing…and it’s finally here. The Women’s event is starting tonight and is definitely an excellent production of dancing, music, video, and speaking. I’m even slightly jealous that men don’t do cool events like this. So, if you’re anywhere near Little Rock tonight (and you’re a woman)…

And if you liked that this is actually mostly just a compilation of the three separate videos which you can see all of here.

Dirt Conference Mashup

Here at New Life Church we will be hosting the Dirt Conference on November 10-11 in Little Rock, Arkansas. I have hinted at Dirt before but if you still don’t know what it is…

Dirt is a creative approach to showing churches that big ideas and big change don’t always mean big budget. As much as that’s the script we’re supposed to tell people, that’s really what we want to see happen. Everyone on staff here and everyone teaching labs will be there to help you understand what you can do better with what you already have. Nobody is going to tell you that you need a font budget, or you must replace all your Macs with PCs (although it wouldn’t hurt). We just want to inspire the creative MacGyverness to get you where you want to be.

So here’s the latest Dirt Promo featuring a few people you may have heard of…

Employee of the Month

So, another long time between updates but hopefully you will forgive me when you see all the cool stuff we’ve been working on. And, since I am officially the employee of the month for August 2009, nobody is more qualified to do so (and yes, that is a real award).

The award was given to me this month mostly because I was an idiot and climbed in a tree covered in poison something during a video shoot to get a shot. It was bad…like wrist to elbow completely covered bad…so I guess they felt the need to make it up to me. That shoot was for a women’s event promo which Neil and I are working on now which I will show you all when we release them.

We have been incredibly busy this month so there are a lot of videos I could show you which is why I have created an awesome Videos page which I will keep updated with our latest endeavors. Of particular note are:

And speaking of new website…we have also been building a new website with the help of the amazing Joe Hohman (and by that I mean he’s been building and we’re just sitting back and watching in amazement). So here’s to a full month of videos and another crazy month ahead.

Last night the Conan O’Brien aired his first episode (as can be seen on Hulu) as the new host of The Tonight Show. Let me tell you, it’s been a long wait. I have to say, I truly enjoyed it more than I enjoy many things in life…but I may be a simple man.

Dirt Conference

So I mentioned Dirt Conference (even more specifics later) in passing in my last post, well here is the official promo. Just one of the things I’ve had the chance to work on while in Arkansas.

I made it in After Effects over the weekend and some in the van on the way to North Carolina for the ARC All Access Conference. It was a good 13+ hour drive but it was a great trip all around.

The video is a pretty simple idea that looks really sharp. If you’re the AE type and would also like all the project files just to tinker (minus the end…it was too big) it is linked below. Enjoy!

A Hoax To Live For

At Impact this year some of us media guys were bored one day and we decided to fool everyone by pulling off possibly THE greatest hoax of all time…ever. Imagine 450 people standing on their chairs screaming because they just saw someone make a half court shot for $10,000. You may be able to tell now that it’s fake, but when you watch it the first time on a screen with hundreds of screaming people around, there’s no question in your mind that it’s real. Alright, I know most of you don’t really care about Elliv and promise this is the last time I write about it, but I poured so much into it and it was so amazing I just want everyone to see it!
